The year was 1977…the movie, was Star Wars Episode IV, A New Hope. I would wager that there is a good chance everyone holding this magazine right now can remember the first time they were introduced to the strong and radiant Princess Leia, or the wise Obi Wan Kenobi.
Perhaps you recall the first time you saw Han Solo piloting the Millennium Falcon alongside the towering yet loveable Chewbacca, or the young Luke Skywalker trying to find his place in the universe. Yes, of course every Star Wars fan remembers this legendary list of characters. However, for how amazing all these characters were, there was one more that became an instant household name with not only fans of the film, but with the few people who hadn’t even seen the movie. A character that not only stood out as the primary force of darkness, but also the darkness within the force.
Darth Vader is truly an icon of villainy that not only withstood the test of time, but showed he can still steal the show as we saw toward the end of Rogue One. Despite his predication toward the Dark Side, we still can’t help but hold a special place in our hearts for the evil baron of the galaxy.
